Gemstone Diamond (Blog 5)

Diamonds are woman’s best friend and as per astrology Diamond is ruled by Venus, which is a feminine planet. Diamond is the hardest of all gemstones and probably the hardest substance known to the mankind. Diamond is believed to bear qualities of planet Venus. Venus, as per Vedic astrology, is a feminine planet, it is a significator of wife, girl friend, relationship, comfort, luxury, clothing, pleasure, beauty, romance, entertainment etc. People having good placement of Venus in their birth chart are usually good looking and are well suited for fashion industry, interior designing, modelling, acting, cinema etc. Lakshmiji is honored as the ruling goddess of planet Venus.

Diamonds come in many different shapes, sizes, colors and characteristics which makes each Diamond unique and hard to compare. All polished Diamonds are valuable and rarity of a Diamond increases its price dramatically. Diamonds are judged on Four C’s – Color, Clarity, Cut and Carat. Colorless Diamonds are scarce, most of the Diamonds display a hint of Yellow or Brown color in them. Colorless Diamonds are more expensive than colored Diamonds. Clarity of the crystal is another major factor in deciding the price of the stone. Diamonds with no inclusions are extremely rare to be found and are really expensive. Cut of the Diamond displays the skill of the craftsman. Venus is the significator of beauty and a perfectly cut stone is beautiful which commands higher value than an unevenly cut stone. Carat is the weight indicator of the crystal and higher the carat higher it will price.

Diamond can be worn on middle, ring or little finger. Diamond can be set in a ring made of Gold, Platinum or Silver. Experts differ a lot on the choice of finger for Diamond hence it is advisable to choose one astrologer and follow his instructions. Ideal day to wear a Diamond is on the Friday morning of Shukla Paksha (Waxing Moon). According to astrology Emerald and Blue Sapphire are friendly gemstones with Diamond.
