    Rudra Abhishek Puja

    Rudra Abhishek puja is an ancient practice that has been followed in india since time immemorial. 'RUDRA' means 'SHIVA', the benevolent, the destroyer of evil and 'ABHISHEK' means ceremonious of holy bath given to a deity and 'PUJA' means that which is born out of fullness. Through this puja one can aim for inner peace and fulfillment.
    Lord shiva is worshiped in this puja in his Rudra form. Rudra Abhishek is considered as one of the greatest puja's to eradicate all the evils and to attain all the prosperity and peace.
    In this puja Lord Shiva is worshiped in the form of Linga or Lingam and Abhishek is performed with different articles such as flowers, belpatra, milk, coconut water, honey, curd, sugarcane juice etc.

    Relevance of Rudra Abhishek:

    Everything surrounding us is either in the form of an energy or a mass. Energy form is either positive or negative. When we pray to Lord Shiva - the lord of transformation, the entire negative energy around us in the form of diseases, depression and misery gets transformed into peace, prosperity and happiness.
    Rudra Abhishek is done in the name of individual with his / her sankalpa i.e. the specific pupose for which they are getting the puja performed.
    This puja is performed with a crystal 'Linga' and chanted by the ancient mantras which gets absorbed in specific materials like curd, milk, ghee, honey etc. This is then offered to Lord Shiva with reverence, love and gratitude.
